Veg Manchurian, also known as Cabbage Manchurian. is an ultimately delicious Indo-Chinese recipe that will suffice your craving to eat something spicy. Deep fried dumplings made up of Cabbage, maida (all purpose flour), egg and tossed in spicy Chinese sauces.
Veg Manchurian is really easy to make. Loved by people of all ages especially youngsters. I still remember my college days. This was our favorite snack with friends in the evening as well as weekends.
Usually, Veg Manchurian comes in both form, dry and gravy. Dry is loved more. Available on every Chinese Food stall and Chinese restaurants.
Chop cabbage with a knife or you can use a potato slicer. Mix half of the capsicum cubes in it. Add ginger garlic paste, green chili paste, 1 tablespoon Soya, 1 Tablespoon Vinegar and mix it well. Add Salt, cornstarch, maida (all purpose flour), baking powder and egg white to the mixture.
Heat oil for frying in a deep pan. Make dumplings of the mixture and deep fry until they are golden brown. Remove from oil and keep the fried Manchurian balls aside.
Take another pan and add 1 tablespoon oil in it. Keep the flame low and add chopped ginger & garlic to it. Fry for 1 minute add sliced onion to it. Cook for another 1 minute add soya sauce, green chili sauce, tomato ketchup, and 1 teaspoon vinegar to it. Cook for about 1-2 minutes.
Now add the remaining cubed capsicum and fried Manchurian balls to it. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes and take it down. Your Veg Manchurian is ready to serve. If you want gravy, add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1 cup of water, Cook until the gravy thickens similar to Chicken Chili Recipe.
