Rajgira Halwa Recipe

Rajgira Halwa is a gluten-free dessert recipe to cook on auspicious days.  A sweet dish made from rajgira flour, sugar, milk, ghee and flavored with the dash of cardamom.

Also, it is perfect to cook on Vrat days. The halwa is made out of Rajgira flour which contains protien, calcium, and amino acids.

Moreover, it’s rich in iron and magnesium. The texture of the halwa is so ooey-gooey and soft. It has the amazing softness in it and perfect fasting dessert.

Ingredients of Rajgira Halwa

  • Ghee - 1 bowl (medium size)
  • Rajgira Flour - 400 gm
  • Coconut - 1 bowl (medium size) (Grated)
  • Sugar - 1 bowl (medium size)
  • Milk - 500 ml
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
  • Dry Coconut Slices - 1 cup
  • Almonds - 1 cup
  • Cashew Nuts - 1 cup
  • Red Dry Raisins - 1 cup

Steps for Rajgira Halwa

  • Heat the ghee in the pan. Add rajgira flour. Mix well. Keep stirring the mixture continuously. Do not allow it to settle or else it may burn.
  • Add grated coconut & sugar. Mix it again. Keep stirring till sugar melts and water evaporates.
  • Add milk. Keep stirring till water evaporates from milk. Finally, you will see ghee separating from the rajgira flour.
  • Now, rajgira is completely cooked. Add cardamom powder and milk (250 ml) again. Keep stirring.
  • Burn water from the milk.
  • Garnish with dry coconut slices, almonds, cashew nuts, and red dry raisins. Rajgira Halwa is ready to serve hot.
