Paneer Masala Idli

It is suggested to rest the idli batter for 10-15 minutes to get the desired softness and texture of the idli before making the final dish. Yet, this recipe is ready in an instant as compared to the traditional idli recipe.

Ingredients of Paneer Masala Idli

  • Paneer Sabji
  • Edible Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Onion - 1 pcs medium size (Chopped)
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Capsicum - 1/2 pcs small size (Chopped)
  • Green Garlic - 1 bowl small size
  • Coriander - 1 bowl small size (Chopped)
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Tomato Puree - 1/2 bowl small size
  • Paneer - 1 bowl small size (Grated)
  • Idli Batter
  • Idli Batter - 1 bowl large size
  • Eno Powder - 1 sachet
  • Water - 1 tbsp
  • Oil - as needed for greasing
  • Cheese - for garnishing

Steps for Paneer Masala Idli

  • Paneer sabji
  • Take a pan, add oil and heat it.Add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and saute till it turns light brown..
  • Add chopped capsicum, green garlic, chopped coriander, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add tomato puree and mix it properly.
  • Add grated paneer and mix once again. Cook for 2 minutes. See that it doesn't burn at the bottom. Your paneer sabzi is ready. Keep aside.
  • Idli
  • Take plain idli batter in a bowl. Add eno powder and water and mix.
  • Now take the idli mold and grease it with cooking oil.
  • Pour a little amount of idli batter in the molds.
  • Put paneer sabzi on the idli batter in the middle. You can also make flattened Tikki like shapes out of the paneer sabzi to add in the batter in molds.
  • Steam it for 10 to 12 minutes. After steaming it allows it to cool down. Then take out idli carefully from the mold.
  • Garnish with grated cheese. Serve it with sauce or chutney.
