Ingredients of Palak Kofta

  • For dumplings
  • Gram Flour - 100 gm
  • Semolina - 2 tbsp
  • Red Chili Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander-Cumin Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Green Chili Paste - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Coconut Powder - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Spinach - 200 gm (Chopped)
  • Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 500 ml (frying)
  • For gravy
  • Buttermilk - 250 ml
  • Curd - 1 small bowl
  • Gram Flour - 50 gm
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Coriander-Cumin Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Green Chili Paste - 1 tsp
  • Coriander - 1 tbsp (Chopped)
  • Oil - 5 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Garlic - 1 tbsp (whole)
  • Dry Red Chili - 3 pcs (whole)
  • Curry Leaves - 10 pcs

Steps for Palak Kofta

  • To make dumplings, take a large bowl. Add gram flour, semolina, red chili powder, ginger garlic paste, coriander-cumin powder, green chili paste, turmeric powder, coconut powder, salt, and chopped spinach. Mix well to make a dough.
  • Add baking powder and 1 tbsp water. Mix all again. Add 1 tbsp water again and mix for one final time.
  • Now take a deep vessel. Heat oil in it. Carefully place gram flour dumplings in hot oil. Make dumplings on the go. Deep-fry until brown. Palak dumplings are ready.
  • Take a large bowl. Add buttermilk, curd, gram flour, turmeric powder, salt, coriander-cumin powder, green chili paste. Mix well. Add chopped coriander and remix it.
  • Heat oil in the pan. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, garlic whole, dry red chili whole, curry leaves. Saute it for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Now add the buttermilk mixture. Add water and mix. Cook until boils. Now add the palak kofta one by one to the curry. Cook till kofta absorbs curry and becomes soft.
  • Palak kofta is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
