Meethi Seviyan (Sweet Vermicelli) Recipe

Meethi Seviyan is a quick and easy to make dessert recipe you can prepare at home. This recipe is made with condensed milk, khoya, sugar, ghee, and vermicelli.

This recipe is so nice that people have a hard time saying to know to it. Doesn’t matter if you do not have a sweet tooth.

This sweet delicacy is on the menu during special occasions and festivals. It is an instant recipe you can make in just 20 minutes. So, this can save you for when you want to impress guests and you have limited time.

This recipe can be in two forms- dry as well as with milk. Either way, they both taste really super delicious. Moreover, cardamom and saffron are added to make this dish more flavorful and give it a fantastic aroma.

If you don’t want to add milk in it, you can use milk powder in its place. Besides, you can also nutmeg to get the aroma if you are not a fan of cardamom.

You can choose the ingredients as per your likes and dislikes, especially dry fruits. You can even make it with water instead of milk.

Ingredients of Meethi Seviyan

  • Sugar syrup
  • Water - 250 ml
  • Sugar - 200 gm
  • For Seviyan
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Almonds - 10 pcs
  • Cashew - 10 pcs
  • Dry Coconut Slices - 10-15pcs
  • Ghee - 4 tbsp
  • Vermicelli - 250 gm (seviyan)
  • Milk - 200 ml
  • Cardamom - 1 tsp
  • Dry Raisins (Red) - 1 tbsp

Steps for Meethi Seviyan

  • Sugar Syrup
  • Take a pan. Add water and sugar. Boil till sugar melts.
  • For Seviyan
  • Add ghee in a heated pan.Add almonds, cashew, and dry coconut slices. Roast till brown.
  • Add 4 tbsp ghee to the pan and heat it.Roast vermicelli (seviyan) in it till you get a dark brown color.
  • Add milk and mix well. Cook till water in the milk evaporates.
  • Now add cardamom and dry red raisins.
  • Add sugar syrup. Mix well. Cook till water evaporates.
  • lastly, add roasted dry fruits. Serve hot with lunch or dinner.
