Ingredients of Tamarind Corn Chaat

  • Water - 3 glass
  • Corn Kernels - 300 gm
  • Salt - 1 tbsp
  • Black Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Cornstarch - 5 tbsp
  • Cooking Oil - 250 ml (frying)
  • Cooking Oil - 3 tbsp (sauteeing)
  • Onion - 1/4 pcs (Chopped)
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Capsicum - 1 tbsp (Chopped)
  • Tamarind Paste - 2 tbsp
  • Water - 2 tbsp
  • Asafoetida - 1 tsp
  • Red Chili Flakes - 1 tbsp
  • Pomegranate Seeds - 2 tbsp (for garnishing)

Steps for Tamarind Corn Chaat

  • Take a deep vessel. Add water and corn kernels. Boil for 10 mins. After boiling, rinse the hot water and keep aside to cool them down.
  • Now take a bowl, add boiled corn, salt, black pepper powder, ginger-garlic paste, cornstarch. Mix well and allow it to rest. You can add more cornstarch as per your preference.
  • Take a deep vessel, add cooking oil, and heat it. Add the coated corns and fry till medium brown. Do not add all at once. Fry coated corns gradually so that they don't burn or remain under fried.
  • Take a pan, add cooking oil, and heat it. Add chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste chopped capsicum and saute it.
  • Add tamarind paste and water. Mix well. Now add asafoetida and mix again.
  • Add red chili flakes and mix for one final time. Its time to add the fried corns. Mix all well.
  • Tamarind corn chaat is ready. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and serve.
