Palak Puree Masala Gujiya Recipe

Ingredients of Palak Puree Masala Gujiya

  • For the green dough
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Wheat Flour - 1 small bowl
  • Salt - to taste
  • Spinach Puree - as needed
  • For plain/regular dough
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Wheat Flour - 1 small bowl
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - as needed
  • For stuffing
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seed - 1 tsp
  • Coriander Seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Fennel Seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Peanut - 1 tbsp (whole)
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Green Chili Paste - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder
  • Salt - as needed
  • Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp
  • Potato - 2 pcs medium size (Mashed)
  • Coriander - 1 tbsp (Chopped)
  • Oil - 500 ml (frying)

Steps for Palak Puree Masala Gujiya

  • To make the green dough, take a bowl. Add ghee, wheat flour, salt, & spinach puree. Mix all to make a dough. The dough will be green in color.
  • To make plain/regular dough, take a bowl. Add ghee, wheat flour, and salt. add water as required. Mix all to make a dough. the dough will be a regular one.
  • Now place both the dough in a bowl and cover it with a clean cloth. Leave for some time. Now make thick chapati out of the green and regular doughs. Total 3 from the green dough and 3 from a regular dough.
  • Place chapatis on one another. Start with green and then the regular one alternatively. Keep chapatis on one another in such a way that green should come at the bottom & upside.
  • Apply water between the chapatis so that it sticks with each other. Now wrap the chapati layers in a plastic bag and keep in a freeze for an hour.
  • To make the stuffing, heat oil in the pan. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, and peanut whole.
  • Now saute till peanuts are brown. Add ginger-garlic paste, green chili paste, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt, and lemon juice. Mix everything well and saute it till water burns.
  • Add mashed potato and chopped coriander to the masala. Mix again. Now take out the chapati layers from the freeze. Cut it into small pieces. Roll it and make the outer cover. Shed extra dough from all sides. Fill the masala mix and seal it.
  • Make sure you seal each one of them properly so that it doesn't open up while frying. Take a deep vessel and heat the oil in it. Carefully place the masala stuffed gujiya in oil until golden brown. Take it aside.
  • Palak Puree Masala Gujiya is ready to serve.
