Chicken Pastry Roll – Chicken Stuffed Puff Pastry

Chicken Pastry Roll is a delicious appetiser made with ready puff pastry sheets stuffed with cooked boneless chicken seasoned with ingredients of your choice. Serve it with mayo or tomato ketchup to get an unforgettable taste.

Ideal for picnics, tea time, small gatherings and parties. Moreover, teenagers and children like it very much.

You can make the puff pastry dough at home or buy ready puff pastry dough from the market. I have made it with prepared pastry sheets. My kids love it a bit less spicy, and thus I have cooked it with just salt, pepper, and green chilli.

To add some Indian spicy taste to Chicken Pastry Roll, you can season the chicken with tandoori masala or achari masala or any masala of your choice. Peri-peri would go excellent with this puff combination.

Usually, we make these delicious Chicken Pastry Roll for brunch on Sundays. I was waking up late and having a heavy breakfast that lasts long. I have tried the same with peri-peri and tandoori masala also. It is just incredible.

Ingredients of Chicken Pastry Roll

  • Chicken - 500 gm (Boneless)
  • Pastry Sheets - 8 to 10 Pcs
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1.5 tbsp
  • Green Chili Paste - 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper - 1 tsp
  • Salt - To Taste
  • Edible Oil - For Frying
  • Egg - For Pasting

Steps for Chicken Pastry Roll

  • Cut the boneless chicken into long and medium strips. Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilli paste, black pepper and salt to it. Mix it well. Marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Heat a flat pan. Shallow fry the marinated chicken strips. Cook until chicken is tender. Keep it aside. Tip: If you feel that chicken isn't getting tender you can add 1/2 glass of water and cover the lid.
  • Take a 5-inch by 5-inch square pastry sheet. Put 2 inch long cuts on both opposite sides.
  • Place cooked chicken strips in the centre of the pastry sheet and cross fold the cuts onto the chicken. If you want you can place add cheese to the chicken.
  • Preheat oven to 200 ℃. Place the Chicken Pastry Rolls onto the Baking tray. Cook for 15-20 minutes until the pastry turns fluffy and light golden in colour.
  • Your Easy Chicken Pastry Rolls are ready to serve. Serve it with Mayo and Tomato Ketchup unforgettable taste.
