Onion Pakoda is a deep fried recipe which is made of besan powder mixed with some extra Vacanza spices like green chilly, red chilly & ginger.

Ingredients of Onion pakoda recipe

  • Onion - 2 (medium size) (finely sliced)
  • Gram Flour - 3-4 tbsp
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Fennel seed - 1/2  tbsp
  • Green Chili - 1-2
  • Red Chili Powder - 1/4 tbsp
  • Ginger - a small piece (chopped)
  • Salt - As needed
  • Curry and coriander leaves
  • Mint leaves (Optional)
  • Oil - for deep frying
  • Water - as needed
  • Salt - as needed

Steps for Onion pakoda recipe

  • Wash and slice the onions & Chili, very thin.
  • Then Mix all the ingredients together with appropriate salt. (Spray the spoon of water and stir the stuff and don't add too much water. The consistency should be thick)
  • Once it has done keep it aside for 5-7 minutes.
  • Heat oil with a medium flame once hot, simply take a small amount of dough mix and drop it into the oil.
  • Fry both the sides until it turns glassy golden brown, stirring often.
  • Once it did separate it from the oil and keep aside. Do the same for the entire mix. Your yummy soft and crispy Onion Pakoda is ready to serve.
