Ingredients of Beetroot Halwa

  • Beetroot - 2 cup (cubed)
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup (adjust with your taste)
  • Milk - 500 ml
  • Cardamom powder - pinch (optional)
  • Cashew nuts - as you wish
  • Red Raisins - 5-10
  • Ghee - 1/4 cup
  • Almonds - 5-6 (optional)

Steps for Beetroot Halwa

  • Wash and peel the skin of beetroot and slice into cubes.
  • Boil milk with a medium flame until it reduced into half of its initial volume. Once it boiled add cubed beetroots.
  • Continue to cook under a low flame until it gets smooth cook. (Often stir)
  • Once it boiled, keep it aside to cool. Then grind into a smooth paste.
  • Heat ghee in a bottom-weighted vessel with medium flame once hot fry cashew nuts and dry grapes then keep it aside.
  • Now pour the beetroot blend with a pinch of cardamom to the same ghee and allow cooking until it gets separated from ghee. (often stir the mix)
  • Finally, garnish with fried cashew and dry grapes. That's it your colorful and healthy beetroot halwa is ready to serve. You can enjoy this with no combo however it goes well with bread and chapatti.
