Why Use Honey?

Honey plays a significant role in our mint giloy kadha. Let me tell you that our kadha is bitter because of the giloy powder. Henceforth, we need to make it easily drinkable. To do that we need honey. In short, honey adds sweetness to the kadha.

At the same time, natural honey contains ample benefits pertaining to human health. Yes, that’s not a vague statement. Indian Ayurveda has already proved this & now even modern science accepts it.

In fact, honey is an excellent substitute for processed sugar. This is why we will use honey & not sugar in our kadha.

Now we know what is kadha and we have a list of ingredients that we need. On top of it, we also know the benefits of each item. Since we know all these let’s make it.

Making Mint Honey Giloy Kadha

Assemble all ingredients before you start. Now boil water & begin by adding cloves, cinnamon & black pepper to the boiling water. Cover the vessel so that the aroma is preserved. Thereafter add the remaining items one by one & keep stirring.

The water will change its colour when you add giloy powder. Boil the mixture for a couple of minutes & then turn off the flames. Remove the mixture & allow it to cool down. When the mixture is completely at room temperature use a strainer to strain the mixture.

Add honey as per taste. Your mint honey giloy kadha is ready.

Note: Do not add too much honey. Remember, honey is to reduce the bitter taste not to make the kadha extra sweet.
