Kashmiri Kahwa

Kashmiri Kahwa is a soothing drink consumed in some regions of Central Asia like Pakistan, Middle East, Afghanistan and in northern India especially in Kashmir.

Kashmiri Kahwa is a beverage among Kashmiris. It is a deadly combination of spicy taste and aroma. An ideal Kahwa includes whole spices, almonds, walnuts and saffron. It is a great drink to sip on cold winter days.

There are many benefits of  Kashmiri Kahwa. Due to the presence of saffron, it serves as a warming drink. Kahwa improves metabolism.

Ingredients of Kashmiri Kahwa

  • Water - 2 cups
  • Tea Leaves -2 tsp
  • Sugar -2 tsp
  • Green Cardamom - 4
  • Cinnamon - 1 piece
  • Almonds - 2 tsp (crushed)
  • Walnut - 1 tsp crushed
  • Saffron - 4 to 5 strands

Steps for Kashmiri Kahwa

  • Take water in a pan. Boil it on high flame for 2 minutes.
  • Add cinnamon and green cardamom to it and simmer for 2-3 minutes thereafter add sugar and tea leaves and cook for 3-4 minutes and switch off the heat.
  • Strain the kahwa in cups.
  • Add crushed almonds to Kashmiri Khawa and garnish with few strands of saffron.
