Sabudana Kheer | साबूदाना खीर

Sabudana Kheer is a deliciously creamy dessert consisting of sabudana as the main ingredient. This is a quick and instant recipe to make this sweet delicacy.

In the English language, sabudana is known as sago or tapioca pearl. Sabudana is a processed food product and is completely a starch.

This sweet is very similar to rice pudding we can find. This version is instant and fuss-free. Even the ingredients are easily available in your pantry.

Ingredients of Sabudana Kheer

  • Sabudana (Sago) - 70 gm
  • Water - 1 glass (To Wash)
  • Milk - 3/4 glass (Hot To Soak)
  • Milk - 500 ml
  • Cardamom - 1 tbsp
  • Cashew - 25 gms (8-10 pcs)
  • Almonds - 8-10 pcs
  • Red Raisins - 2 tbsp
  • Pistachio - 8-10 pcs
  • Condensed Milk - 200 ml
  • Mix Dry Fruits (To Garnish) - As Per Taste

Steps for Sabudana Kheer

  • Place a sieve on a bowl. Fill it with sabudana. Wash it with water as shown. Dry them after.
  • Put them in a bowl. Add hot milk in the bowl. Soak them for 3-4 hours.
  • Heat a deep vessel. Add milk in it and keep it on the flame until it is hot.
  • Now add the soaked sabudana. Cook and stir for 5-7 minutes. The consistency of the substance shall be a bit thick. Keep it aside to cool down.
  • Add cardamom, cashew, almonds, red raisins, and pistachios. Stir everything.
  • Finally, add condensed milk and mix it properly.
  • Sabudana kheer is ready. Serve it at room temperature or chilled.
