Dudhi Halwa | Bottle Gourd Halwa | Eid-E-Milad Special

Delicious Dudhi Ka Halwa is a traditional and nutritious sweet dish that everybody likes. One of my favorite desserts. All the people in my family love this especially my mother. The Halwa made by my mom is just another dish served from heaven. pure ghee etc.

Dudhi ka Halwa is very easy to make at home and gets ready in less than an hour’s time. Some like it for its taste and some for the goodness of dudhi and milk. Dudhi Ka Halwa is made with Bottle Gourd, Sugar, milk solids.

Ingredients of Dudhi Halwa

  • Bottle Gourd - 500 gm (Dudhi, Lauki)
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Mawa - 200 gm
  • Rose Essence - 3 drops
  • Almonds - 50 gm
  • Cashew - 50 gm
  • Milk - 1 Cup
  • Pure Ghee - 3 tbsp

Steps for Dudhi Halwa

  • Peel and grate the bottle gourd.
  • Take a vessel and heat it. Cook the bottle gourd till the water evaporates.
  • Then add milk to the vessel. Stir it and cook for some time.
  • Add sugar to the bottle gourd and keep on cooking on low flame. Keep stirring so it does not stick at the bottom.
  • Heat pure ghee to the pan and add cardamom powder. Stir it.
  • Mash the Khoya (Milk Solids) into the pan and mix it well. Cook for a few minutes on low flame. Then add cashew and almonds.
  • Now add the sweetened bottle gourd to it. Mix it properly. If needed, you can add edible green color to enhance the color o the halwa.
  • Delicious Dhudki ka Halwa is ready to serve. Garnish it with Cashew and almond pieces if you want.
