Laddus are an all-time favourite sweet snack for everyone. Also, children can barely resist having a bite of this sweet delicacy.

Dry Fruit Laddu is a winter special recipe. All the dry fruits included in the recipe provides your body with the required nutrients. Moreover, Jaggery will fulfil the need for warmth in your system.

There is no exact step by step way to prepare this recipe. You can make it the way it is convenient for you. Besides, the measurement of the ingredients used can be changed according to your own convenience and choice. This laddu recipe is so versatile like that.

Some may add sugar to the recipe for getting the sweetness. But using jaggery makes it more healthy and nutritious, also giving it a nice taste.

Others may use different combinations of dry fruits. My choice is Walnut, Peanuts, Cashew nuts, Almonds. You can also use Hazelnuts, pistachio or any other dry fruit for that matter.

The better thing about this laddu is that you can eat it during fasts. It provides a good dose of energy and nutrients. Just eating 2-3 laddus will make your energy level boosted.

The addition of Gond or edible gum is also possible. It will boost up the nutritional value of this recipe like anything.

Ingredients of Dry Fruit Laddu

  • Sesame seeds - 500 gm
  • Walnut - 200 gm
  • Peanuts - 100 gm
  • Cashew nuts - 50 gm
  • Almonds - 50 gm
  • Ghee (for roasting)- 50 gm
  • Ghee (for jaggery syrup) - 50 gm
  • Grated Coconut - 100 gm
  • Dry Ginger powder - 30 gm
  • Jaggery - 700 gm

Steps for Dry Fruit Laddu

  • Laddu Mixture
  • Take a bowl and add sesame seeds, walnuts, peanuts, almonds, cashew nuts and mix everything.
  • Grind the mixture into a powder form.
  • Heat the pan and add ghee.
  • Add dry ginger powder and mix it well with ghee.
  • Add grated coconut and mix it well then keep it aside.
  • In the pan add dry fruit ground mixture. Roast it until the moisture goes away. This will add a crispness to the laddu.
  • Jaggery syrup
  • Heat the pan and add ghee to it.
  • Add jaggery and heat it till jaggery melts into a thick syrup. Remember to keep stirring the jaggery syrup so that it doesn't get burnt. Now add the coconut and dry ginger powder mixture to the roasted dry fruit powder mix. Mix it well.
  • Then add the sweet jaggery syrup to the mixture. Mix everything properly.
  • Now roll the mixture in round dumplings shape. Your dry fruit laddus are ready to eat.
