Beans Poriyal Recipe – Beans Poriyal (Shallow Fry) With Dal Combination

Today I am going to make simple and eye-catching greenish Beans Poriyal Recipe  (shallow fry) with Dal combination.

Every bite of this Beans Recipe will be the hodgepodge of Beans Uziyal (South Indian dish prepared with smashed moong dal) and Kootu (semi gravy).

In this recipe, I didn’t use onion and tomato but if you wish you can try that as well.

Ingredients of Beans Poriyal Recipe

  • Beans - 1 bowl (nicely chopped)
  • Chana and Moong dal - 2-3 tbsp (soaked)
  • Green Chili - 3
  • Onion -1 (small) (sliced)
  • Garlic - 2-3 cloves (smashed)
  • Salt and Water - as required
  • Turmeric powder a pinch
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tbsp
  • Curry and coriander leaves
  • Coconut - 1 tbsp (optional)

Steps for Beans Poriyal Recipe

  • Clean and Soak the Chana and Moong before 15-20 minutes to start.
  • Heat oil with a medium flame, once hot, add mustard seeds when it split, add curry leaves, sliced green Chili, garlic and onion.
  • Allow to until it gets transparent. Add chopped beans and a pinch of turmeric powder then fry for a minute.
  • Then add dals with appropriate salt and water. Cover the lid and cook with a low flame. (Often stir the mix)
  • Once it cooked check the moisture is dried or not. If not then fry with a medium flame until it dries up.
  • Switch off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves and coconut.
  • Your yummy Beans Poriyal Recipe (shallow fry) is ready to serve! Enjoy with warm plain rice or chapati or with any other variation of rice.
