Tiranga Rice – Tri Colour Rice

Tiranga rice is a grand presentation of our country’s flag. One can make it with Indian-style flavors like carrots, bell peppers & crushed paneer. It’s a simple rice recipe you can garnish with crushed and chopped vegetables to give some crunch.

Kids in the house will love this recipe. It is colorful-looking rice that is digestive at the same time & the aroma is charming and blooming.

Generally, at my home, on such a special patriotic day, I try to make something with my mother as she fond of making colorful recipes. She is a pro at making a colorful salad.

Ingredients of Tiranga Rice

  • Edible oil - 1 Tbsp
  • Garlic - 1 Pcs (Chopped)
  • Green Chili- 1 Tbsp (Smashed)
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Cumin Powder - 1 Tbsp
  • Water - 1/2 Cup
  • Rice - 250 gm (Boiled)
  • Green Bell Pepper - 1 Pcs (Chopped)
  • Carrot - 1 Pcs (Crushed)
  • Paneer - 100 gm (Grated)
  • Black Pepper - 1 Tbsp

Steps for Tiranga Rice

  • Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Add chopped garlic, smashed green Chili, salt, and cumin powder. Cook for 2 minutes. Add water as oil starts to separate.
  • Now add boiled rice and mix it well. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Rice is ready. Spread the rice over a plate. Garnish it with chopped green bell peppers, crushed carrot, grated paneer, and black pepper to form a Tiranga.
  • Your Tiranga Rice is ready without any artificial food colours.
