How To Check The Freshness of Egg
Checking the freshness of the egg is a very important thing. You can check the freshness of an egg very easily. All you need is a bowl of water. That’s it.
Take a bowl of water half filled with water. Put the eggs inside.
If the egg lands to the bottom on its sides it is quite fresh and good to eat.
But if the egg lands at the bottom and stands upright, then you need to eat as soon as possible.
By any chance, if it floats it is not good to eat that egg. This is how you can know the freshness of your egg.
How To Boil Egg Perfectly?
You can use boil an egg on a stove as well as also in a microwave. Boiling time, water quantity, and other things differ in both methods.
Boiling Egg on Stove
While boiling an egg on a stove, Place the eggs in a deep pan and pour water into it. Keep the water level 1 inch above the eggs.
You need to adjust your flame to medium-high for the perfect boiling of eggs.
The key trick here is that never let the water reach a full boil. Only Simmer.
To get a soft boiled egg just pull the egg out in about 2-3 minutes.
This will give you the perfectly soft-boiled egg for a lovely breakfast.
Planning to make a medium boiled egg which has a semi-cooked yolk then cook for around 6-8 minutes.
Leave the eggs in the pot and just drain the hot water. Pour some cold water over it and keep it aside for about 10-15 minutes. This will stop the cooking process.
You can give an ice bath to the eggs if you want it faster.
Boiling Egg In A Microwave
This method is much easier and faster than the above, but there are chances of egg being over-cooked or under-cooked.
While boiling an egg in a microwave, you have to bit careful.
Wash them properly so that they are perfectly clean.
Poke only one tiny hole with a paper pin into the egg to release the pressure while cooking and stop it from exploding. You can also add salt to prevent them from exploding.
Take a bowl filled with water and put the eggs inside it. Keep the water at least 1 inch above the eggs.
Put them into a microwave for about 5-6 minutes for a hard boil. If you like a running yolk 2-3 minutes are enough. Timings depend upon make and model of your microwave. It is better to know your equipment prior to doing this.
Either put them in a bowl containing cold water or give them an ice bath. Let it cool and your perfectly hard-boiled egg is ready.
Then comes the peeling of the eggshell. Do it under the running tap water to avoid getting dings on the egg white or sticking of shell particles on it.
