Ingredients

1 pcs Lauki (Bottle Gaurd) Medium
1 cup Chana Dal
To Taste Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Red Chilly Powder
1 1/2 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
2 pcs Green Chillies To Taste
3 Tablespoon Edible Oil or use according to your diet.
1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
1/2 Teaspoon Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
1 Tablespoon Fresh Coriander Chopped

    Take a deep pan. Add 2-3 cups of water to it. Heat the water and add pieces of Lauki (bottle guard) and chana dal to it. Keeping the chana dal soaked prior to cooking helps it cook faster.

    Add green chilies, turmeric powder, salt, red chilly powder and coriander powder to it.

    Boil it for approximately 15-20 min until the chana dal and lauki are soft. Cover the pan so that the boiling process becomes fast due to steam.

    Take the pan down from the stove and slightly mash the chana dal and mix it well. It will look like semi-paste mixture.

    Take another pan and heat the oil. Add Jeera (Cumin seeds). As the jeera changes its color, add ginger garlic paste, Mix it well and leave it for 5 min.

    Add the mixture of chana dal and lauki to it. Mix it well. Add lemon juice and cook until you see oil signs of the oil separating from the mixture.

    Your Chana Dal Lauki is ready to serve. Garnish it with fresh chopped coriander leaves.
